The Midwest Consortium for Hazardous Waste Worker Training is one of sixteen organizations in the United States funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to develop and host training programs for workers covered by OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard--29CFR 1910.120 and DOT's Shipper/Transporter Standards--49CFR 172.700 & 177.800. Within the Midwest Consortium are ten affiliates, located in nine different states. The main area of focus for these affiliates is HAZWOPER training, however, other training programs, which fall under the OSHA rules, are also part of the curricula.
