Biography: Ed Bonekemper has been a Federal attorney for 33 years – 11 of them as a Coast Guard officer and the last 15 working on hazmat transportation issues at DOT. He directs legal activities at DOT concerning hazmat transport regulations, enforcement and preemption. He has a BA cum laude from Muhlenberg College, a JD from Yale Law School, and an MA from Old Dominion University. He is the author of a controversial book entitled How Robert E. Lee Lost the Civil War.
