Biography: Mr. Peters received a B.A. degree from the University of Iowa and a J.D. degree from the John Marshall Law School. He is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa, as well as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Peters was employed with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources in Pittsburgh where he was responsible for litigation and enforcement activities. Mr. Peters previously worked for Illinois Governor James Thompson in Chicago where he concentrated in utility and energy issues. He also has served as a faculty member for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Peters lectures frequently on emerging environmental issues of concern for the Michigan Manufacturers Association and Executive Enterprises and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Executive Enterprises Publications Co., Inc. Mr. Peters co-authored "Clean Water Act" Unauthorized Presence of Fill Material In Wetlands Area Constitutes Continuing Violation for Statute of Limitation Purposes," The Digest of Environmental Law, December 1996; and the article "(To Avoid Waste Water Enforcement Actions…) Have All the Information at Hand, Be the First to Know About a Violation, and Report Promptly," published in The Environmental Corporate Counsel Report, April 1995. Mr. Peters specializes in environmental law with emphasis on water resources and permitting issues.
