of Presentation: Welcome to Certification Congress Author: Jeffery P. Perl Key Words: CHMM, recognition, acceptance, approval, accreditation, status Abstract: The CHMM program is designed to protect the public by requiring a level of professional competency through examination, continuous training, and a code of ethics. As such, it has achieved a certain level of recognition and acceptance throughout the Nation. Various regulatory or bureaucratic entities now require the CHMM stamp of approval to validate a variety of plans and projects. But what exactly is the state of this recognition? Exactly which agencies or companies accept our accreditation? What might other entities look for, or need in a certification? This forum will attempt to review the developments in these areas. We will review the status of the IHMM, ACHMM National, as well as what is happening at the grass roots level in the many local chapters. We will hear from the regulatory, military, industrial, academic sectors and other perspectives. Those of you who join us will also have an opportunity to influence our direction and determine the action we need to improve an already strong CHMM program. "Come and Get Involved!" |
