Abstract: "Sustainability" is most likely to be one of the most overused buzzwords for the early 21st Century. What does it mean to a CHMM and more importantly what are the tools a CHMM can use to make "sustainability" a reality for their organization? There are several "sustainability" concepts. This session will discuss the most popular 3 concepts as well as the common business tolls that a CHMM can use to enhance both their organization's business & and environmental performance that together will bring them to that magic nirvana of "Sustainability".

Sustainable business practices will become more and more scrutinized in the coming years. Externally, this will be driven by the current business indices such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and its equivalent in other countries. Internally, an organization struggles to make ALL of their resources as efficient as possible to gain a competitive advantage, maximize profits and in turn gain favor of the markets. After a company has addressed "e-commerce" this will be the new world they must conquer. An informed CHMM can help their organization get there quicker!

You've heard the terms: EMS, 14001, Sustainability, Globalization…Compiling her successes, one CHMM describes her experience in adapting sustainability concepts, quality tools and "regulatory" common sense into an organization's business goals with "sustainable effects.. After working on a project in Eastern discussion of the "tools" a CHMM can use.
