Biography: Mr. Curtis is a Professional Engineer registered in the States of Ohio and West Virginia, a Certified Safety Professional, a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and a recognized contributor to the Safety profession through articles and seminars. Mr. Curtis has published the first part of a series of articles dealing with safety management and TQM in Professional Safety, the Journal for the American Society of Safety Engineers, and has been a presenter at the National Safety Congress regarding management of safety programs.

Locally, Mr. Curtis is also active in both professional and civic organizations. He is a member of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Environmental Advisory Committee, the Environmental Education Sub-committee, the Steering Committee for the Environmental Roundtable and a regular speaker at the Dayton Safety and Environmental Conference. As a Certified Hazard Materials Manager, Mr. Curtis provides assistance to state and local governments through position papers regarding the effects of environmental legislation and regulations on the regulated community.

Abstract: This seminar will enable participants to develop and conduct more effective emergency response training by emphasizing specific skills that can be most effectively developed through the use of table-top exercises, by demonstrating specific training techniques that should be used to focus training into critical skill areas, and by showing how positive feedback and critique can be used to enhance the learning experience for emergency response managers and supervisors.
