Position: Site Health and Safety Officer

Responsibilities: North Wind, Inc. is seeking a Site Health and Safety Officer (HSO) at its Chicago office with 5-10 years of demonstrated construction and/or demolition and 29 CFR 1910/1926 project compliance experience. Selected candidate will provide full-time ES&H support for local Department of Energy DOE decontamination and demolition project currently scheduled to run August 2010 through September 2011. Experience at HAZWOPER, radiological sites, and applied DOE environmental project experience preferred. Knowledge of local, Illinois, federal and DOE Argonne facility H&S regulations and requirements highly desired.

Requirements:

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER (with current refresher)
  
• CPR/First Aid Certification
  
• DOE Radiological Worker II (or ability to recertify or obtain the training)
  
• Five years experience in providing Safety and Health support specifically on construction or demolition projects
  
• 30-Hour OSHA Construction Course, or equivalent
  
• BS degree preferred
  
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) strongly preferred.
